  • Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with contract terms, technical specifications, and regulatory obligations.
  • Provide commercial and legal guidance to project teams, advising on rights, obligations, risks, and opportunities.
  • Proactively manage disputes or contract compliance issues to resolution.
  • Oversee change control, variations, and claims to maximise value and minimise risk.
  • Monitor contract costs, payment milestones, invoicing, and cash flow performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Prepare regular contract performance and progress reports for senior management.
  • Lead audits, inspections, and compliance checks to ensure legal, safety, health, and environmental standards are met.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in contract management in civil engineering or construction.
  • Deep understanding of construction law, contract frameworks, and risk management.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g. RICS, APM, CIOB) desirable.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with contract or project management software.
